The St. Lawrence Market South building is a major public market building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the southwest corner of Front and Lower Jarvis Streets. Along with the St. Lawrence Market North and St. Lawrence Hall, it comprises the St. Lawrence Market complex.
St. Lawrence Market South, on the south side of Front St, is open Tuesday to Sunday, featuring food stalls, restaurants and the St. Lawrence Market Gallery. The South building dates from 1845, has been rebuilt twice, and still incorporates a section of its original building that was used as Toronto City Hall from 1845.
The South Market. The main and lower levels of the South Market contain over 120 specialty vendors, known for the variety and freshness of their fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, grains, baked goods and dairy products, as well as for the uniqueness of the non-food items for sale.
Hours of Operation. South Market: Tuesdays - Fridays - 9am / 7pm. Saturdays - 7am / 5pm. Sundays - 10am / 5pm. Mondays - Closed. 2024 Holiday Hours. Victoria Day: Saturday, May 18 - 7am / 5pm. Sunday, May 19 - 10am / 5pm. Monday, May 20 (Victoria Day) - Closed. Canada Day: Satuday, May 29 - 7am / 5pm. Sunday, May 30 - 10am / 5pm.
