Michetti entered public service in 1989 in the Province of Buenos Aires, and the following year joined the executive staff as a technical adviser at the Argentine Ministry of Economy. After the crisis of 2001 Gabriela decided to become involved in politics because she felt that this was the best way to make her contribution to improve the everyday lives of people in her country.
