Jan 28, 2024 · Oakwood has been my home for the past 13 years and I could not dream up a better place to go to school. I am extremely involved as a student in the athletics department and going to the CIF finals last year I was in awe of how many Oakwood students made the trip down over an hour away to watch us compete but that is just a testament to the tight knit Oakwood family and community.
Oakwood School warmly welcomes families moving to the Los Angeles area. We are delighted to inform you that we offer the I-20 form to international students. As a day school, we do not provide boarding or homestay options, so we require all students to reside with their legal parent(s) or guardian(s) while enrolled.
Families also have the opportunity to participate in the Los Angeles Case Studies program - an admission committee simulation staffed by admission officers from around the country. 12th Grade For Oakwood seniors, the work of the college application process begins before school even starts with our Essay and Application Week.
Aug 18, 2022 · Danny Pando (Middle School Dean of Students) joins Oakwood as a Los Angeles native, Danny has a BA in Child Development from Cal State Northridge and a MA in Independent School Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College. He brings a wealth of teaching experience in independent schools, including Gulliver Preparatory School, Wesley School, and Crossroads where he taught 8th grade English.
Since our middle and high school divisions are located separately from the elementary school, all students entering grades 7-12 are essentially “new.” In 7th grade, approximately half of the students are new to Oakwood and come from 30+ schools in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond.
