Like the original, Shanghai Knights suffers from sexual dialogue and implied prostitution. The violence is not that problematic; all of it is bloodless and involves general karate action. The language is mild (one abuse of Jesus’ name by a street urchin; another partially muffled in the outtakes at the end; and a disguised f-word in subtitles, along with general profanity).
From a Christian perspective “Shanghai Noon” is not given a “PG-13” for nothing. Language is prevalent throughout the film (even the Indians curse in subtitles!), though thankfully, we are spared from many instances of the Lord’s name in vain, and the film has zero f-words (impressive for a modern PG-13 film).

Great comedy-actor Owen Wilson (“Shanghai Knights”) turns up in a barely recognizable cameo that is completely humorless and could have been played by an extra with no noticeable difference. British comic-genius John Cleese does nothing in his role but look dumbfounded while Liu and Matt LeBlanc play out a painfully overdone running gag.
