Send a voice message. Tap the message box. Tap the Microphone . Record your voice message. The voice message is automatically saved as a draft so you can listen to it before you send it. The voice message isn't sent until you tap Send . Tap Send .
When you make Google Messages your default messaging app, you can review your text message history in Google Messages, and you'll only be able to send and receive new text messages in Google Messages. To create a group text message, add up to 7 names or phone numbers. Group messages can have up to 8 participants, including the person who sends the message.

If you're not connected to Wi-Fi, make sure cellular data is on: On your Android device, go to Settings. Tap Network & internet. Under “SIMs,” tap Google Fi. Turn on Mobile data.
