Powerhouse Charlie Dixon put together another solid set of performances in his eighth season at Alberton. Often touted as an ‘old school’ key forward, Dixon is a master at outmuscling his defender, or defenders, for the strong grab – providing an invaluable target for his midfielders.
- A born basketballer. Charlie was born in Cairns and grew up playing basketball where he excelled at a junior state level. It wasn’t until his brother convinced him to pick up a Sherrin that he made the move to Football at the age of 15.
- He’s enormous. In short, Dixon is a huge unit. At 200cm and 105 kilos, Dixon is the biggest forward in the competition – he joins resident giants Matthew Lobbe and Justin Westhoff here at Alberton.
- He played ‘half blind’ in his first few years. It was only after he took advice to get his eyes checked in 2011 that Dixon found he had been playing ‘half blind’ for a good portion of his career.
- He holds a pretty impressive title with the Suns. Dixon departs the Gold Coast as the man who kicked the club’s first ever goal, in Round 2, 2011 against Carlton.

Jun 19, 2024 · Port Adelaide forward Charlie Dixon has had his three-match ban upheld at the SANFL tribunal. Dixon was cited for rough conduct by the SANFL Match Review Panel following a bump on West Adelaide's Jordan White on Saturday at Alberton Oval.
Charlie Dixon (born 23 September 1990) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the Gold Coast Football Club as a Queensland zoned selection made available to Gold Coast under the AFL's draft concessions.
