Biography - Peter Golub. Introduction. PETER GOLUB began playing the piano when he was six. Alongside his interest in music, in high school he developed a passion for the theatre, forming a troupe with a group of classmates and directing and acting in plays by Pinter, Ionesco and Beckett.
Peter Golub is the composer of numerous concert works, film scores, music for the theater, and ballet. Recent pieces include the cello concert, SLEEPWALKING, performed by Matt Haimovitz and the song cycle Dark Carols.
Golub is the current director of the Sundance Film Music Program and teaches film music and composition at UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music. He is a member of the Acadmey of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
