May 4, 2023 · Red Earth is the only CPS III video game which has never been officially ported to home platforms, although its characters have appeared in later Capcom games. Red Earth and other games that used the CPS-3 hardware were very advanced both graphically and from a gameplay standpoint, but were not accepted very well by arcade operators due to the high price and fragility of the hardware.
Red Earth made waves at the time of its release with its unique RPG system and password system. It is the Holy Year 1999 in a world dominated by religious governments, and where military might is comprised of swords and magic. While each country yearns to expand its own influence and power, they have maintained an equal, if shaky, balance of power.
