2008–2015: early career
After moving to Toronto, Hicks began studying improvisation at the Second City Training Center and performed in the plays Tartuffe and The Ballad of Captain Jack and King Louis at Ryerson University. After this he continued to perform in the theatre and acted as Hugh Dancy's double for season 2 of Hannibal.[citation needed]
2015–present: Cardinal and film roles
In 2015, Hicks performed in an episode of Quantico and took on a bit part in the television series The Strain , after which he filmed Killing Mommy, and White Night. He then took on the role of Constable Derek Fox in Cardinal for four seasons and a small role in Reign, as well as supporting roles in the Christmas films Christmas Wedding Planner, and Christmas Catch.
