Elizabeth Knight was born on 1 November 1944 in Oxford, Oxfordshire. She made her first film appearance in the 1968 musical Oliver! as Charlotte, maid to Mr. Sowerberry (played by Leonard Rossiter), and also appeared in the Richard Burton gangster film Villain in 1971.
After this eye-catching turn in what turned out to be the most successful British film of the year, Elizabeth Knight was asked back to Pinewood for a featured role in the very next film in the series, Carry On Again Doctor.
