Elgin Gay Baylor (/ ˈ ɛ l dʒ ɪ n / EL-jin; September 16, 1934 – March 22, 2021) was an American professional basketball player, coach, and executive. He played 14 seasons as a forward in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers.
Elgin Baylor was a Hall of Fame small forward who played 14 seasons in the NBA, mostly for the Lakers. He won MVP, All-NBA, and All-Star awards, and averaged 27.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.
