The University of St. Michael's College is federated with the University of Toronto. It was founded in 1852 by the Congregation of St. Basil and retains its Catholic affiliation through its postgraduate theology faculty. However, it is primarily an undergraduate college for liberal arts and sciences.
Today, St. Michael’s is home to 5,000 students studying everything from astronomy and English to architecture and zoology. Our status as a federated college within the University of Toronto, one of the world’s top research universities, offers students a wealth of academic and extra-curricular choices.
The University of St. Michael’s College offers four unique sponsored programs and three SMC One seminars to undergraduates, two Continuing Education certificate programs, and a variety of graduate-level programs through our Faculty of Theology.
