Vancity was founded in 1946 by fourteen motivated change-makers who felt underserved by traditional banks that wouldn’t lend East of Cambie. So they formed our credit union — a place where the people who bank here, also own the place.
Select a Service. To become a member and open an account with Vancity, you must be a BC resident, have a social insurance number (SIN) and be ready to deposit $5 at account opening for member shares. If you meet the three requirements, choose a time to get your account setup started. Please bring either cash or a cheque to deposit your $5 shares.
