History. 1940–1982: Origins and arcade success. The Diamond 3 Star was a coin-operated slot machine produced by Sega in the 1950s. In May 1940, American businessmen Martin Bromley, Irving Bromberg and James Humpert formed Standard Games in Honolulu, Hawaii.
