The Giant Mine was a gold mine located on the Ingraham Trail, 5 km (3.1 mi) north of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Giant Mine was within the Kam Group, a part of the Yellowknife greenstone belt.
From May to December 1948, the mine produced 8,152 ounces of gold from 49,985 tonnes of ore. With the nearby Con Mine also operating, Yellowknife was experiencing the rapid growth associated with a booming mining industry.

Mar 6, 2013 · Giant Mine is a former gold mine, covering 872 hectares, located 12 kilometres from Yellowknife city centre. From 1948 to 2004, Giant Mine produced 7.6 million ounces of gold. While gold mining in Yellowknife was a significant economic driver, it left a less positive legacy at the Giant Mine site.
On June 6, 2022, the Yellowknives Dene First Nation advised the Giant Mine Remediation Project they were withdrawing from the wellness study, which had been called Hoèła Weteèts'eèdeè: Overcoming Hardships from Giant Mine.
