The Picasso Summer is a 1969 drama starring Albert Finney and Yvette Mimieux. The screenplay was written by Ray Bradbury (using the pseudonym of Douglas Spaulding) based upon his 1957 short story "In a Season of Calm Weather."
Former Disney animator Wes Herschensohn put his personal ambition to meet the great Pablo Picasso into motion the Hollywood way, by making a movie. Around 1964 he met the painter through Luis Miguel Dominguín, the Spanish bullfighter and celebrity, with plans for a short animated film featuring Picasso's images.
But when Smith decides he must travel to Europe in search of his favorite painter -- the great Pablo Picasso -- Alice indulges her husband, and the two pack their bags.
