Bonds of Honor. Bonds of Honor is a 1919 American silent film directed by William Worthington. Sessue Hayakawa 's Haworth Pictures Corporation produced the film and he himself played the leading roles along with his wife Tsuru Aoki. [1] [2] Marin Sais, Dagmar Godowsky, [3] Herschel Mayall, Toyo Fujita and M. Foshida also appeared in the film.
Instead of committing hara kiri, as prescribed by the Japanese code of honor, Sasamoto escapes to Russia with the German conspirators, where he becomes a drunkard. Yamashito, charged with bringing his brother to justice, poses as Sasamoto in Russia and exposes the spies.

In this picture, Sessue Hayakawa is in a dual role, playing twin brothers. One of them, Yamashiro is serious and hardworking, while the other, Sadao, is a playboy. There is a girl, Toko-Ku, who loves them both, but really prefers the bad boy. Sadao encounters Paul Berkowitz in a gambling den and borrows far more money from him than he can ever pay back.
