Clayoquot Sound / ˈ k l ɑː k w ɒ t / is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is bordered by the Esowista Peninsula to the south, and the Hesquiaht Peninsula to the North. It is a body of water with many inlets and islands.
Clayoquot Sound is a dramatically varied inlet of the Pacific Ocean nearly 100 km wide on the west coast of Vancouver Island (estimated area, water 784.25 km 2; land including freshwater 2715.75 km 2). Clayoquot ("clah quat") Sound takes in the highly scenic islands and mainland drainages from Quisitis Point northwest to Escalante Point.

Clayoquat Sound is a wonderful and complex system of water, islands, inlets and forests that provides a magnificent environment for diverse range of wildlife. We went on two excursions - whale watching and then bear watching - and both were fantastic!
