Overview. Americans Jeff and Tommy, hunting in Scotland, stumble upon a village - Brigadoon. They soon learn that the town appears once every 100 years in order to preserve its peace and special beauty. The citizens go to bed at night and when they wake up, it's 100 years later.
The original production opened at the Ziegfeld Theatre on Broadway in 1947 and ran for 581 performances. It starred David Brooks , Marion Bell , Pamela Britton , and Lee Sullivan. In 1949, Brigadoon opened at Her Majesty's Theatre in the West End and ran for 685 performances; many revivals have followed.
