After the stock market crash of 1929, the Colt-Stratton family is forced to rent their yacht to the nouveau riche at the behest of Nella Fitzgerald (Polly Moran), including gambler Barry Forbes (Sidney Blackmer) and his sidekick Freddy Finn (Sterling Holloway).

The film begins nicely, the Colt-Stratton’s shown at their respective jobs before Nella visits their yacht to make them an offer.
A once wealthy but now working family living in elegant poverty aboard their yacht are suddenly thrust into leasing their yacht and themselves for a cruise for some vulgar and possibly underworld connected nouveau rich by a decidedly sexually ambiguous Polly Moran. All right, that sounds like a comedy.
Oct 6, 2012 · The hard to view RKO picture Down To Their Last Yacht will be on TCM in December. This is a very bizarre late Pre-Code film with odd musical numbers full of suggestive dialogue. My favorite character is Mary Boland's island queen. This is camp at its finest, so bad its good. Watch it December 3rd.
