Friedrich Ernst Peter Paul Maria Thun-Hohenstein (born 30 June 1942) is an Austrian actor. He appeared in more than a hundred films since 1958. A descendant of the noble Bohemian Thun und Hohenstein family, Friedrich von Thun grew up in Leoben, Austria.

Austrian actor Friedrich von Thun (born Friedrich Thun-Hohenstein) was born on June 30, 1942, during the war at the family castle in Kvasice in the Kroměříž region. His father, Arnošt (Ernst), mobilized with the Czechoslovak army in 1938 and in 1939 signed a noble declaration of solidarity with the Czech nation.
