To address the existing lack of specialist knowledge, we are launching a dedicated Blue Carbon Academy. This initiative aims to increase expertise in countries and regions where marine ecosystems and coastal wetlands are particularly at risk.
Blue carbon refers to the carbon stored in our marine habitats – such as tidal and saltmarshes, seagrasses, mangroves and the seabed itself.
