North and John Twist, and based on the novel High Sierra by W.R. Burnett, the film is about an outlaw who is sprung from jail to help pull one last railroad job.

Jul 8, 2024 · Colorado Territory 1949. ★★½. Watched Jul 08 , 2024. Potentially interesting western where exciting crime stuff keeps getting interrupted for tiresome romance mush. Joel McCrea has an easygoing charm to him, that's why he worked so well in movies such as Sullivan's Travels (1941), but he's far less convincing notorious outlaw.
Colorado Territory is a beautiful Western-Noir that, akin to Walsh’s own Pursued, explores the Western’s relationship with death and fate. McQueen is a character who, unlike those in Pursued, sees his end before he sees his second chance.
