  2. Mar 2, 2004 · In the case of the Mach 460, the amps aren't capable of driving 4 ohm speakers the way the system is configured. FalconGuy, I don't advise using the factory amps and speakers when installing a new head unit.

  3. The problem with the main speakers in the Mach 460 sound system is that they also work like subwoofers. If you replace them with aftermarket speakers, which normally only handle the midrange, you'll lose most if not all bass from the rear.

  4. Plan 1 replace and rewire the front speakers with either Focal PS165V or JL Audio C5 570 Evolution powered by a JD400/4 amp, remove the rear 5x7 speakers, Mach amps and install either a 10”w3, 12”w3 or 10”w6 in the trunk flush against the back seat no rear speakers.

  7. May 17, 2008 · If one amp powers the left side (front & rear) and the other amp powers the right side (front & rear) then the problem may be unbalance speaker resistance. I think this is the case with mach amps. You need four speakers with equil resistance.
