Damn I love this film. Its like a modern John Carpenter film with Kurt Russell - extremely efficient, unpretentious, tight and well crafted to deliver a solid experience. Its a relentless thriller that has absolutely no dead wood or flab whatsoever, from the opening credits to the last shot.
The final confrontation occurs when Jeff, armed and now driven by rage and desperation, faces off against the kidnappers led by Red Barr, portrayed by J.T. Walsh. In a tense and violent showdown, Jeff manages to kill Red and the other accomplices, effectively saving his wife.
