    Hugh Morton Shand was the son ofAlexander Garden Shand and Isabella Morton. He was born on 13 January 1815 in Glasgow, Scotland.

    He married on 15 August 1857 at St James's Church, Paddington, London, as her second husband, Edrica Cowling née Faulkner [IGI].

    He was an Ancestor of HM Queen Camilla, née Camilla Rosemary Shand, Queen Consort of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, formerly Mrs Andrew Parker Bowles.
