Manga Trunks literally has a Super Saiyan 2 as strong as Super Saiyan 3, that's his equivalent to Rage. Also, Rage appeared on the cover of the manga volume.
Super Saiyan 3 (SSJ3) is around 4 times stronger than SSJ2, making it approximately a 400x multiplier of base form power. Therefore, if we take a base power level of 150,000,000 for Super Saiyan 1 (SSJ1): Super Saiyan 2 (SSJ2) would be approximately 2 times SSJ1 = 150,000,000 x 2 = 300,000,000.
The problem with the transformation is that Trunks, like any other u7 saiyan, uses rage to turn Ssj. If the Super Saiyan is already a transformation based on Rage (for them, for u6 is obtained differently), why make a form that is also about Rage, but changes things?
