Heerlen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦeːrlə(n)] ⓘ; Limburgish: Heële [ˈɦeə˦lə]) is a city and a municipality in the southeast of the Netherlands. It is the third largest settlement proper in the province of Limburg. Measured as municipality, it is the fourth municipality in the province of Limburg.

Heerlen is a Municipality and city. It is in the south east of Holland and it is part of the Province of Limburg. It is a large conurbation, with a population of around 220,000. but it is in line to get even larger. Heerlen is a part of a new city called Parkstad Limburg.
- Thermen museum. As Heerlen has along history that spans back to the Roman age of conquest, it makes sense that you can find many ancient roman artefacts and excavations here.

Heerlen, gemeente (municipality), southeastern Netherlands. It lies just northeast of Maastricht. Situated on the site of the Roman settlement Coriovallum (with remains of a Roman bath), it is essentially a modern town that grew rapidly as the centre of the Dutch coal-mining district.
