Forgas Band Phenomena is a French instrumental progressive rock and jazz fusion band. Inspired by Soft Machine and the Canterbury scene, composer and drummer Patrick Forgas has created the band and is still leading it. Since 2005, his albums are edited by the American label Cuneiform.
The Forgas Band Phenomena is led by composer and drummer Patrick Forgas, who has been hailed as "the French answer to the Canterbury scene" since he first burst upon the scene in 1977 with his "Cocktail" album, which featured members of Magma and Zao.
French unit FORGAS BAND PHENOMENA was formed back in 1997, with drummer Patrick Forgas as the principal member. Following two initial productions in the 90's they signed to the US label Cuneiform Records in 2005 for their third studio album.

Patrick Forgas was just 18 when he heard the music that would transform his life: the second Soft Machine album. The following years would see him perfect his drumming technique with several bands that were thriving in the 1970’s. He recorded a demo tape in 1975 with Didier Thibault (bass) and Dominique Godin (keyboards).
