Yes, at one point, the creature takes the form of a monstrous, glass-eyed, talking doll to lure in the protagonist. And somehow, this works. The kid ran away screaming when the monster was just a pair of glowing eyes in the basement (maybe you just have a lost Jawa in your home, kid), but that uncanny valley nightmare apparently is irresistible.
