On a monthly basis, Nova Scotia's fuel oil prices were down 4.9%. National fuel oil prices were down 4.1% from April to May. Food price inflation was 2.9% in Nova Scotia (May 2024 vs May 2023).
Different prices are set in each of the province’s 6 price zones to allow for variations in transportation costs. Current retail and wholesale prices for each zone are set weekly by the Utility and Review Board.

Overview. Employment in Nova Scotia edged upward in October as a large increase in the number of full-time workers (+6,500) was mostly offset by a decline in part-time employment. The level of full-time employment in the province surpassed 400,000 for the first time on record.
