Johann Georg Halske. Johann Georg Halske (30 July 1814 – 18 March 1890) was a German master mechanic. Biography. Born in Hamburg, Halske started his own workshop in Berlin in 1844, which he ran together with his partner F. M. Böttcher. In 1847 Halske founded the Siemens & Halske Telegraph Construction Company together with Werner von Siemens.
From precision mechanic to company founder. In 1847, the 33-year-old precision mechanic Johann Georg Halske joined artillery officer Werner von Siemens in founding the firm Siemens & Halske. This move laid the corner stone for a global company that now looks back on 175 years of history.

Johann George Halske (1814-1890) 1814 Halske was born the son of a sugar broker and honorary town councilor of Berlin, Johann Heinrich Halske. From 1825 to 1828 he was a pupil at the Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster, one of the premier academic schools in Berlin, but it was highly theoretical and he left without gaining a diploma.
