I have enjoyed the series up to this point, and I even looked forward to the next movie to see the story unfold. After watching, I looked at the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, Metacritic, etc.; and it seems the majority of the films received a lack-luster rating.
Spoilers for the whole franchise below obviously, I'm not going to try and mark all the spoilers. Saw is my favourite movie/series, I've seen 1-7 three or four times through now and Jigsaw twice. The first one is a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.

"Saw" has been advertised as the new "Se7en" and while both movies are definitely in the same tradition, "Saw" does a much better job at actually being creepy. Jigsaw is the most gruesome killer the cinema has seen in a loooong time.
