I remember being in the Ellen’s Stardust Diner in New York and one of the singers got up on the table and started belting this tune. Everyone in the diner immediately perked up and we all sang the chorus together. It’s just one of those timeless songs that everyone knows and everyone loves to sing along to because it’s so catchy.

Written in 1969 by Neil Diamond, this song was a huge success reaching #4 in the US Billboard Hot 100. I think what makes this song so memorable and such a great tune to sing along to is the classic “da da da” part. It’s originally played by the horns section but typically just voiced out when a crowd sings along. It’s one of those feel-good songs ...

Bill Withers, unfortunately, passed awayon March 30, 2020. But fortunately, he left us with some of the most timeless and beloved soul music of all time. He wrote classics like “Ain’t No Sunshine”, “Lovely Day”, and “Just the Two of Us” among many others. But “Lean On Me” is the one that stands out to me as being one of his best sing along songs. I...

No one got crowds more worked up in the 60s and 70s than The Beatles. They created a plethora of tunes that had (and still has) people up and dancing, singing along, and feeling the music. “Hey Jude” isn’t the most upbeat of The Beatles’ songs but that last couple of minutes where McCartney and band sing the “Na na na” part is a great section for a...

Takin’ Care of Business doubles as an easy guitar riffto learn on guitar as well as a great sing along tune. The chorus is simple: Crowds love singing along to the chorus of this song thanks to its upbeat rhythm and positive message.

American Pie is certainly up there when it comes to the number of words in a song. I did the counting, it has a total of 868 words! That’s a lot of singing. Now obviously crowds can’t memorize, let alone sing along to, all of the words to this tune but the chorus is another story. It’s easy to remember, catchy, and has only 41 words. That’s a much ...

If you ever watched Toy Storyas a kid then more likely than not this song is etched into your memory. This classic Randy Newman song perfectly encapsulates the relationship between Woody and Buzz and the power of friendship. That’s what makes it such a great singalong song when you’re together with a group of friends. It’s a song that’s still as me...

Whitney Houston is the queen of 80s pop ballads. Her soaring voice, impactful lyrics, and memorable music made her an icon of her time. If you want to make a splash at your next karaoke night then “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” is a great karaoke song for women. Alternatively, if you just want a great song to add to your Saturday night party playlis...

“Sing us a song you’re the piano man”. Few can rival the piano skills of the piano man himself, Billy Joel. He’s made countless hits that people love to play anywhere from piano bars to funeralservices. “Piano Man” is a great one for helping to get a crowd out of their shells and having them all belting the chorus. It’s a classic that never fails t...

Back-to-back piano rockstars? Yep, this next one is by Elton John, another one of my favorite artists. Sir Elton John has recently being making waves with his recent collaborations with artists like Britney Spears and Dua Lipa but “Tiny Dancer” is one of his classics that everyone knows and loves. The song was written by Bernie Taupin and told the ...

    • It Makes No Difference’ Rick Danko had the ability to convey incredible heartache and pain in his vocals. Nowhere is this more apparent than on "It Makes No Difference," a sad tribute to a former lover.
