What if the answer my tutor provides is incorrect? How much time do I have to revise my Question if it’s sent back to me? Why do some explanations to Questions take longer than others?
So recently I have noticed that some of the students I have tutored want me to just tell them if their answer is correct or not. Obviously, my mentor has told me not to give the answer right away but rather facilitate discussion by asking questions.
Is anyone else having trouble with students telling you that they learned blatantly wrong things from other tutors? This includes completely messing up APA and MLA formatting (and a lot of outdated APA) or grammar concepts.
A lot of time there's a few really common misunderstandings that result in students getting the answer wrong. It's tricky, but if you can figure out what those are you can often make use of wrong answers by addressing them.
Mar 6, 2016 · I think the answer depends entirely on what you mean by "help". If the tutor is explaining concepts but letting you figure out how to apply them, it's not only appropriate but recommended. If the tutor is telling you what words to write on the page, it's straightforward cheating.
