Our Medical Radiography program trains individuals in X-ray imaging. Students are trained in areas of computed tomography (CT), fluoroscopy, OR imaging, emergency/trauma, interventional procedures, and mammography. It’s a dynamic, fast-paced career rooted in helping people from all walks of life, where no two patients’ needs are the same.
Through a combination of classroom lectures, laboratory simulation, and clinical education, students learn to operate sophisticated x-ray equipment, and advanced computer systems to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy, position patients for x-ray procedures, practice radiation safety and deliver quality patient care.
The Medical Radiologic Technology program teaches students how to perform X-rays, including evaluating the diagnostic quality of images, patient care and quality control. Students also gain expert knowledge in radiation safety and protection practices.
Through courses in anatomy, patient care, radiographic techniques and X-ray equipment train to properly position patients and record images of disease or injury as a medical radiologic technologist for hospitals, clinics, or public health agencies.
