  2. Looking for the best places to visit in Oregon? In this post, we're sharing the coolest Oregon photography locations, famous and hidden!

    • Natural Bridges, Samuel Boardman State Scenic Corridor. One of our favourite photography locations in Oregon actually has three very different viewpoints.
    • Smith Rock State Park. Smith Rock has some great hiking trails but you don’t have to go far to reach one of our favourite spots. Just head down the track to your left from the car park and you’ll immediately come to this view.
    • Lower Proxy Falls. Both Upper and Lower Proxy Falls are a landscape photographer’s delight. Both have a true out in the wilds feeling to them. Our favourite was Lower Proxy which had a powerful flow and lots of atmospheric logs in the foreground.
    • Trillium Lake. Trillium Lake is a magical spot with the towering Mount Hood as a backdrop. Normally we would have come to this location at sunrise or sunset for the best light (I’ve seen stunning photos from both times of day) but we couldn’t make it work so our photo is shot in the middle of the day.
    • Trillium Lake, Mount Hood National Forest. Starting off strong with my personal favorite. The first two times I visited, I didn’t get to see Mount Hood showing off in the background of this gorgeous lake.
    • Latourell Falls. There are HUNDREDS of gorgeous waterfalls in Oregon. And especially in the Columbia River Gorge Region. This is one of three waterfalls on this list that are must-see’s in my opinion.
    • Oswald West State Park. This place is extremely underrated and one of my favorite places on the Oregon coast. This Oregon Photography location really showcases the ruggedness of the coastline here and is surrounded by charming coastal towns to vacation at.
    • Leslie Gulch and Owyhee Canyonlands. I made the mistake of coming here in the Summer with EXTREME heat. But regardless, it was absolutely breathtaking and a place I cannot wait to revisit maybe in the Spring or Fall.
    • Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor. Famous For: 10 Miles of the most dramatic coastline on the planet. We travel worldwide full time and have done so for almost a decade now.
    • Cape Perpetua. Famous For: Thor’s Well, Cooks Chasm, Devil’s Churn, Forest Walks. Cape Perpetua is a savage and perpetually windy section of the Oregon Coast that deserves more attention than it often gets.
    • Bandon. Famous For: Wizard’s Hat, Devil’s Kitchen, Coquille River Lighthouse, Face Rock. Bandon is one of those places that will grab your attention immediately.
    • Cannon Beach. Famous For: Haystack Rock. Haystack Rock is by far the most popular place for Oregon coast photography in terms of visitors. But much of this has to do with the proximity of Cannon Beach to Portland.
