Saint-Étienne (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃t‿etjɛn] ⓘ; Franco-Provencal: Sant-Etiève) is a city and the prefecture of the Loire département, in eastern-central France, in the Massif Central, 60 km (37 mi) southwest of Lyon, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
Labeled City of Art and History, Saint-Étienne is an important town of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes located in the department of Loire. The second largest city in terms of population, it is about sixty kilometers from Lyon and fifty kilometers from Vienna.
