Situated on the shores of beautiful Georgian Bay, the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre is named after Stanley Cup award winning goalie and native son Harry Lumley . He won the 1950 Stanley Cup while netminder for Detroit, and in 1954 won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s outstanding goaltender.
The Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre contains the J.D. McArthur Arena, a 4,300-seat multi-purpose arena in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. The facility was opened in 1983 on the east shore of Georgian Bay (hence its name) and replaced the city's old downtown arena.
Named after local hockey legend, goaltender Harry Lumley, the centre includes a regulation size ice arena, four full service meeting rooms, and the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame.
