Elementary schools serve children who live in Chicago from kindergarten through eighth grade. Families can choose from their neighborhood elementary school, or they may apply to attend any other CPS school across the city that their student is eligible for and has available seats.
John W Cook Elementary School : Space to Grow. 8150 S. Bishop St., Auburn Gresham neighborhood. The new campus at Cook utilizes green infrastructure to reduce local flooding in the community and to create new opportunities for environmental education and outdoor learning.
John Whistler Elementary School. 11533 S Ada St., West Pullman. The Space to Grow schoolyard at Whistler opened in fall 2021. The new schoolyard includes a turf field, track, drop shot, basketball, rain garden, outdoor seating, and sidewalk games, as well as traditional play equipment and an outdoor classroom.
