A former passenger and freight depot on the Great Northern Railway. The building is a combination of Queen Anne and Jacobean architectural styles, built of local brick with sandstone trim. It is home of the Mille Lacs County Historical Society.
Princeton is located on the southern edge of a vast forest of white pine stretching to Mille Lacs Lake. To the south of the village were chiefly deciduous trees. The sought-after white pines were from 100 to 200 feet in height and from 30 inches to five feet in diameter.
