South Frontenac is a township in Frontenac County in eastern Ontario, Canada. It was amalgamated in 1998 from the former townships of Bedford, Loughborough, Portland, and Storrington. The Holleford crater is located in the township near the community of Holleford.

The Township of South Frontenac is 20 minutes north of Highway 401 and downtown Kingston, Ontario. It has the highest population of the four townships in Frontenac County, and is home to farmers, artisans, self-employed tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and professionals.

Big changes coming soon: the tender for the Town Hall expansion in Sydenham is in the process of being issued, and will close mid-July. The plan is to reconfigure and expand the existing spaces and the project is expected to take a year, more or less, starting this fall.
South Frontenac Township has a new Strategic Plan. The Plan was approved at the December 5, 2023 Council meeting and sets the vision and priorities for the Township for the next four or five years.
