James Roosevelt "Tadd" Roosevelt Jr. (August 20, 1879 – June 7, 1958), also called Taddy, was an American heir and member of the Roosevelt and Astor families.
Tadd left Harvard under a veil of scandal which followed him when he moved to New York City and married Sadie Messinger, a Hungarian-born prostitute. His father disowned him, he was cut off from the Roosevelt family, but nonetheless Tadd remained marred to Sadie all his life.

Apr 23, 2017 · Considered a black sheep of the Roosevelt clan, Rosey disowned Tadd, and all relations with the Roosevelt family were ended. He never touched his inheritance from his mother's family, the Astors, bequeathing his estate to the Salvation Army upon his death in 1958.

On June 14, 1900, while still a student at Harvard, Roosevelt married a Hungarian-born working class woman, Sadie Messinger (–1940) (said by some to be a prostitute, though this has been disputed). Tadd's father Rosey, upon learning of the wedding, traveled from Hyde Park and brought Tadd home.
