Jim Gleason was born in Montreal in 1967, but was raised mostly in the United States. He returned to Canada for undergraduate studies and completed his B.Sc. (Honours) from McGill University in 1989. He then attended the University of Virginia for graduate studies and obtained his Ph.D. in 1994 under the supervision of Prof. Robert E. Ireland.

Born and raised in Sheenboro, Quebec, he is predeceased by seven siblings and has a remaining sister, Theresa Cherwonka, who lives in Alberta.

This is the oral history of Tom Gleason, who is retired from Vast Broadband and has recently retired from the board of NCTC [National Cable Television Cooperative], and Jim Gleason, who is the CEO of Vast Broadband and a member of the ACA Connects board.
Jim worked extensively on screen, mostly in episodic television. In 2002, Jim began working as an instructor at the Margie Haber Studio in Los Angeles, and has continued the passion of instructing through The Working Actors' Studio with Jim Gleason where he thoroughly enjoys helping other actors achieve their dreams as he has.
