Star Trek Beyond is a solid science fiction action-packed adventure that juggles its ensemble cast well, but falls short on developing its main antagonist. While the past two films in the series focused heavily on Pine's Kirk and Quinto's Spock, Beyond did a solid job of fleshing out the rest of the Enterprise's main bridge inhabitants.
