Mar 16, 2016 · Keyboardist Keith Emerson died on March 10 due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Los Angeles coroner's official confirmed on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. L.A. coroner's spokesman Ed Winter ruled Emerson's death a suicide after an autopsy proved the late rock star shot himself in the head. Winter also stated Emerson had a heart condition.
