The College has over 1,800 undergraduate students who are enrolled in the university’s Faculty of Arts & Science, and about 140 students in Trinity’s Faculty of Divinity, Canada’s oldest Anglican theological school.
History of Trinity College. Trinity College was founded in 1851 by John Strachan, the first Anglican Bishop of Toronto. The doors of the original Trinity College building on Queen Street West opened on January 15, 1852.
This firm’s work for Trinity College includes the East and West wings dating from 1941 and St. Hilda’s College on Devonshire Place. The three heraldic roundels in the lower frame were likely designed by A. Scott Carter (1881-1968), a British-born Canadian painter and heraldry designer whose work is extensively represented in Strachan Hall.
Trinity College offers Trinity One, a set of first-year courses, an independent studies program, and three inter-disciplinary programs: Ethics, Society, and Law; Immunology; International Relations.
