Nelson High School takes it name from Port Nelson which was a busy port along Lake Ontario, immediately east of the Village of Wellington Square, at the foot of Guelph Line.
Nelson High School of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, is located in Burlington's South Central area and serves approximately 1392 (2022) students between grades 9 and 12 in the Halton District School Board.
Graduating students are required to complete 40 hours of community service. Students can start accumulating their hours in the summer following their grade 8 year. Helping around the house and hours from a job are no longer eligible to satisfy this grad requirement.
