Jul 11, 2019 · Swoop Airline launched in 2018 and was WestJet’s answer to compete with Flair Airlines, which launched in 2017. I have flown on Swoop Airline over a dozen times from within Canada and to the United States and to Mexico (to Las Vegas and Puerto Vallarta).

Oct 29, 2023 · WestJet discontinues low cost subsidiary Swoop. In June 2023, it was announced that Swoop would be integrated into WestJet’s operations, with a surprisingly fast timeline. That full integration has now taken place as of October 28, 2023 (the end of the summer IATA schedule).
