We are a 4-minute walk from the Wellesley TTC subway station. The 519 is an accessible facility with a ramp, elevator, and all-gender washrooms.
The history of The 519 is the story of Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ experience, a tale of inspiration and community, of speaking out against injustice and coming together to celebrate great progress.
The 519 is the hub of community life in Toronto's diverse Church and Wellesley Village. For over 35 years, The 519 has been working with [its] neighbours and [its] lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer (LGBTQ) communities to build healthy, welcoming spaces to meet, participate and celebrate together.
The 519 Education and Training team provides organizations with the insights, tools, and understanding to create environments that are 2SLGBTQ+ inclusive, respectful and welcoming.
Jun 7, 2022 · Today the 519 is internationally respected for its newcomer and refugee-claimant support networks and programming, which assist LGBTQ+ people in finding housing, employment and community in the GTA after they have fled here to escape countries with oppressive and violent attitudes towards homosexuality.
